Japanese Cook – St. Raphael Resort & Marina

St. Raphael Resort & Marina is seeking a talented and experienced Japanese Cook to join our culinary team. We are dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience by delivering authentic and high-quality Japanese cuisine.

Job Overview

The Japanese Cook will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of traditional and modern Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and other specialties. He/she will ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Japanese cuisine and attention to detail in both preparation and plating.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and teppanyaki.

  • Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and taste consistency.

  • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards in the kitchen.

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients, particularly fresh seafood.

  • Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.

  • Work efficiently in a high-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.

  • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Follow all kitchen policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Japanese Cook in a restaurant, hotel, or sushi bar.

  • Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, including sushi-making techniques, knife skills, and traditional cooking methods.

  • Experience in handling and preparing fresh seafood.

  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and proper handling of Japanese ingredients.

  • Fluency in Greek or English (additional languages are a plus).

  • EU passport holder (essential).
